Course Schedule

The class consists of instruction, discussion, live exercises, work time, and breaks to mitigate Zoom fatigue. To qualify for the certificate, students must attend all classes synchronously on Zoom.

  • October 19th - October 22nd: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time: Instruction, work time, breaks, and coaching
  • October 23rd: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time: Presentations

Platform and Access

To fully engage in the online training, each participant must have access to a computer or laptop with a working camera, microphone, and a reliable high-speed internet connection. While smartphones or tablets may be used in urgent situations, they are not recommended as they can hinder participation in interactive activities and limit the visibility of course materials.

If multiple colleagues are attending the training together, each person is required to have their device and a quiet, individual workspace to support participation in breakout sessions and group discussions.

To foster a collaborative and interactive learning environment, all participants must keep their cameras on during instruction and discussion portions of the training sessions.

Instructor Information

Monique Thompson, CIT, NAI Lead Trainer, is the founder of Raindrop Naturalist and an interpretive trainer specializing in cultural and environmental interpretation. A restorative justice practitioner and nature enthusiast, she brings over 25 years of experience as an educator, collaborator, and learner. Her classes integrate values-based interpretation with strategic storytelling that fosters connection, inclusivity, and well-being—inviting people into deeper relationships with the world, each other, and themselves. Monique nurtures that same spirit through forest bathing, adult hip-hop classes, and gatherings around a pot of gumbo.

“Monique was incredible. As the course went on, I realized more and more that every time she took the floor she was exhibiting the attributes of quality interpretation and presentation. She was engaging, funny, and informative.” 2026 CIG Student
