This is the last of the Sierra Pacific Region's IN-PERSON Community Events for 2024, before we hold our VIRTUAL Fall Awards Celebration in October. We are pleased to announce that this is also the farthest-east location in our region to ever be held! The event will be at the beautifully renovated Rosewood Nature Study Area in Reno, Nevada! Once a golf course, the grounds have been converted back to a Great Basin Wetland Habitat for the benefit of local wildlife. Learn all about it in an 8 am optional morning tour. The day's agenda begins at 10 am with a Welcome & Land Acknowledgement, then a panel discussion on translating interpretive and educational materials from English to Spanish. After lunch, four lively educational sessions will explore topics such as interpretive programming by Washoe County, collaborating with other environmental partners and successful junior naturalist programs.
After the presentations conclude at 4:30 pm, continue the networking & socializing with an optional evening Happy Hour of appetizers & drinks. Bring swag items to share for the Share Fair to celebrate your passion for the profession!
