Bringing to life, a vision of ‘Parks For All’
The Community Stewardship and Engagement team at the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is reimagining what it means to connect people to parks. Working across Marin, San Mateo, and San Francisco Counties, they build meaningful relationships with communities by meeting people where they are—hosting field trips, showing up in community spaces, and creating welcoming pathways into the outdoors.
Their work goes beyond programs; it’s about breaking down barriers that have historically kept many communities from feeling that parks belong to them. Through trust, partnership, and presence, they help transform parks into spaces of belonging, inspiration, and shared care. Their approach reminds us that stewardship begins with connection—and that when people feel welcomed, seen, and valued in nature, entire communities become champions for the landscapes we all love.
